The Old Town Festival "Luzerner Fest" in takes place in the heart of Lucerne June 25.
The festival is celebrated in more than 20 locations: in the old town, lake, and along the river Reuss. Music is played on all the squares of the old town and various stands sell food and refreshments.
Many bands and solo artists of all musical styles will play, including 7 Dollar Taxi, Henrik Belden, Huck Finn, Lake City Stompers, ChueLee, Danu Dellenbach & Band, Bernhard, and more.
The PC-7 army team will perform a flying acrobatic show in nine propeller aircraft. There will also be a 30-minute fireworks display at 10:30 p.m. accompanied by music.
All proceeds of this third Lucerne Festival are used to support charitable institutions in the local and regional area.
Lucerne, the gateway to Central Switzerland, encompasses all the merits of Switzerland - the city, the lake, and the mountains. The city is home to numerous historic sights such as the medieval Chapel Bridge, the fortified wall of Museggmauer, and picturesque squares lined with ancient houses, museums, and theaters. The numerous cableways offer nearby excursions into the mountains of Rigi, Pilatus, and Stanserhorn. Alternatively, visitors can discover the scenic lake on a paddlewheel steamer or motor vessel.
