The Jazz a Juan festival will be celebrated in Antibes Juan-les-Pins this year from July 12 to 22.
This year's live jazz acts include big bands, individual singers, orchestras, trios, and quintets with Latino, Oriental, classical, flamenco, hip-hop, and pop influences. Highlights include the Bitches Brew Beyond, Keith Jarrett Trio, James Hunter, BB King, Robert Randolph, and Santana.
The Jazz a Juan is the longest running jazz festival in Europe. In the early years it started with legendary performances from Charlie Mingus, Ray Charles, Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald, and John Coltrane.
Live jazz will take place at various locations and there are evening packages to suit all. Groups can enjoy a ‘Jazz on the Beach' evening with cocktail aperitifs and dinner at the beach restaurant (prices a la carte). For a more intimate evening, couples can book box seats to their favourite band at the VIP Club 50 starting from €500 for two (price depends on the concert). Groups of up to 10 can be seated at the Jardins du Jazz restaurant with prices from €2400 per table, including a welcome cocktail and gourmet buffet.
Besides the two-week concert, there also will be numerous events taking place, including markets selling Provencal food and wine, jazz music and dance classes, jazz-related exhibitions, film projections, and guided jazz tours.
