La Serre-Che Luc Alphand' bike race is open to everyone. It will take place July 1, 2012 in Serre Chevalier, in France's Hautes-Alpes department.
Routes selected for the 15th Serre-Che: The routes for this year's race are based around the legendary Col de l'Izoardand its famous Casse Déserte. The Izoard, which culminates at an altitude of 2361m, will be climbed from its south side. There are two races starting in Serre Chevalier and a short 60km bike-touring route starting in Plan de Phazy, at the entrance to Guillestre.
In 2006, the famous magazine Cyclosport made a survey to know the favourite races. 3 races had a lot of votes : l'Ardéchoise, stage of the Tour de France and the Serre Che Luc Alphand.
